hair, Hair, HAIR!

OK.... Its been one year since I started using Ateya's regimen with Aphogee products. And all I can say is Aphogee/Ateyaaa SAVED my hair!!! These products in this past year have completely restored my hair to a health I have not seen since I lived in Texas. It took time and patience but it was well worth it. So I've spread the word to friends and family and they are reaping the results of great products: great hair!

So before I can tell you how far my hair has come, I must tell u wear its been...

I'm almost 23 and have been wearing extensions since a bad perm from a stylist when I was 14. My mom took care of my hair and sent me to her WONDERFUL late stylist Laura Ann (R.I.P.) but I really liked my extensions, micros, etc. I was born fabulous, hey look at my ma lol. I got my first job at 17 and my checks went to hair, nails and clothes. Ahhh life was so simple then. But then I went to college in Mississippi, away from my checks, mom, and wonderful master stylist Derrick (love you boo). I started wearing my hair which was then very healthy but combined with hard water and mediocre products, the whole back right side of my hair broke off. I began at this point wearing sew ins and soon my hair was fully restored.

When I was pregnant with my princess I continued wearing my sew-ins. Of course due to those hormones and vitamins, my hair grew thick and strong. But me being me, I still didn't wear it. Hey, when you have a lot on your plate, its just easier to just unwrap or take the rollers out of your nice 14 inch weave and be out the door. I had my daughter and my hair was in the back of the line of all my priorities. I had school, a newborn, TWO jobs (what was I thinking) and still in my various organizations. By October of 2008, my hair was seriously neglected, damaged, and overall BUSTED! Thankfully that summer of '08 led to a solution for my dying locks.

One of my good friends Chasity (check her out at Hairlifebeauty.blogspot.com) introduced me to the wonderful world of hair/makeup on Youtube. While surfing I found a treasure: a pretty black lady with hair like I've NEVER seen before! She would swing her hair back and forth and I was HOOKED! I realized, I HAD to get my hair like this!!! She had a video in Dec. 2008 where she displayed a picture of how SHORT her hair was when she began her healthy hair journey with Aphogee. I was convinced that I had to try, I wanted to be able to wear my hair as well as my OH-SO Sexy weaves.

I began in January 2009. It was a bit of a task washing my hair once a week because when I didn't wear sew-ins I'd only wash it every other week. I took my time and stuck to it. By my second relaxer that year, I saw a difference in my hair. It was softer, stronger, and GROWING. I was so excited, I continued my journey. These aphogee products nursed my hair back to health that I had not seen in SO long! (In my next blog, I'll name EVERY product I use and give my detailed opinion on what it does to my hair.)

I believe that relaxed hair can reach optimum health, if you put forth time and effort. You have to invest in your hair, get products that appeal to your hair needs and above all, STICK TO THEM!! So many women take the easy route when their hair needs more TLC. If you want beautiful healthy hair, you must put in work. I've learned that lesson and my hair has undergone a complete transformation. So if you want your hair to improve, change your habits, and treat your hair like you LOVE IT! God is love!!!!
